Who We are
Caring is More Than Just a Word
We know that it takes a village to raise a child. Our goal is to build families and individuals, who know and experience true connections with My Village Carers and the broader village.
ABOUT US
We are a Village
We strongly believe that the foundation of our village is carried on the shoulders of our carers. We understand that to achieve this, there must be open communication where every voice is heard and valued. Our carers are able to do this because they work in an environment in which they feel secure. It is an ethical and compassionate environment.
It is through this mutual trust amongst staff and carers that management is able to pay above award rates with rewarding contracts.
In turn, our carers mirror and pass forward to our participants and clients the same care and compassion as an extension from the My Village Carers family to your family.
About the Director
“Ubuntu is central to my belief and caring has been a fundamental part of my life. In South Africa, I worked through the church, in our local townships, taking an active role in feeding schemes and assisting in celebrations.
Caring is also reflected in my home life, by my wife and I. We have hosted aids babies, fostered two sets of twins, and have adopted three boys. I have been married for 34 years. When I immigrated, I said I could see Gods needs in Australia. That’s why at 57 I went back to study community services and then work at DFFH in child protection for a few years.
Ubuntu speaks about our interconnectedness. It is about how we relate to others and how they relate to us. We are family – brothers and sisters who depend on each other. My work in the church and in child protection was a way of giving back, of paying it forward, of living out my belief that we are all connected and that what we do for others, we do for ourselves. It is only through caring for each other that we can make the world a better place for all.”
